It is an imposing castle at 85 km East of Amman; built on a quadrangular plan with a round tower on each angle, and a semicircular tower in the middle of each side. The walls are cut by three rows of arches. Graffiti in Koufic characters scripted in 92 of the hegira attests the oldness of this castle.
